Welcome to Team 6B at Chapel Hill Middle School! I am excited about the opportunity to serve you and your child this 2014-2015 academic year. I want this 6th grade experience to be enjoyable and successful in every way!
As you can imagine, ensuring that your child is ready for the school year will not occur automatically. His or her success must be a collaborative effort between you and your child’s teachers. No one group will be as effective without the help of the other. If we work together, your child will be prepared for success in 8th grade and beyond. You can help develop the skills and characteristics your child will need for continued success this academic year by working with him or her at home. Following are just a few activities, suggestions, and discussion points you can share with your child: · Encourage your child to read his or her textbook nightly and review daily notes. Ask him or her to review/share the information he or she has learned with you. · Use the CHMS agenda planner to record homework and other important information. · Review your child’s interactive notebook and make sure it is up to date. · Visit the my web page daily for a posting of homework assignments, projects, field trips, and other important information. · Review the classroom rules, responsibilities, and expectations with your child. A course syllabus will be provided that will outline each of these. · Visit my class whenever you have time available. I would love to have you! · w Don't forget to check grades on Infinite Campus. You can click here to access it. This year I will be utilizing an interactive notebook which will be a great tool to help your child organize information and serve as an ongoing portfolio. I want this year to be the best year ever for you and your child by ensuring that he or she has the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to succeed in school. Together, we can do it! Please feel free to contact me if I may further assist you in any way. It is a privilege for me to work with your child. Thank you. Sincerely, Dr. Livingston |
